Korean designers Kyung Hyun Kim + Kim, Kyung Hyun + Lee, Wonjun + Lim, Hee-Jun have come up with a concept food waste disposal system, dubbed GrowGreen, for use in public places.

Made of eco-friendly, biodegradable material (PLA), the disposable bins could be filled and thrown away in comparatively larger public bins. Available in three colors, each shade indicates the destination (feed, compost or energy) of the recycled waste. Whenever a user fills the bin with trash (food waste), a metaphoric tree grows as feedback.
