Pleasing lush green lawns are not a new concept, but a mobile one certainly is. Now, you must be wondering as to how can a lawn move about. Well, this unusual ‘pack of green’ is a bus covered in real grass that was presented at the 1st Innovation Festival organized by the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Thessaloniki Exhibition Center last week.

One of the most eco-friendly ideas at the Thessaloniki "Future City" Innovation Festival, the Thessaloniki urban bus aims to increase public awareness on environmental and energy conservation issues. Each day grass-bus that showcased the festival was parked in a different part of the city to surprise people and encourage them to take up green practices. Many sustainable ideas were displayed within the bus, an award-winning, 100 percent environment-friendly wooden bicycle for children and model systems explaining how aeolic (wind) and solar energy work to name a few.
