Tony Jones of Coral Reef Wetsuits has already captivated attention of many with his new solar surfboard. He has filed a patent for 6-12 ft. solar surfboards that are expected to hit the market really soon. The barrel-carving kit incorporates a three, five or eight watt photovoltaic (PV) panel, depending on the model. The energy produced is stored in a battery pack. The solar surfboard that is up for approval in June this year, works by using a 5-ounce solar panel that resides at the bottom of the board.

Jones has been using the solar surfboard for nine months is presently looking for investors to buy his product. The energy produced by the solar panels can be used to power your gadgets like iPod, cell phone, etc. The solar stand-up paddle board as Jones calls it is here to offer a great surfing experience.
