Not only this, GE also plans to find ways to potentially cut $150 million per year out of its operating costs, meaning reduced environmental footprint. It will concentrate on bringing more ingenuity and networking to existing product categories. GE is developing software to improve organizing flight paths, take-offs and landings for airplanes, reducing the time that planes have to spend circling airports and saving on fuel.

In addition, the software will help trains to slow down or speed up to prevent congestion and optimize delivery. GE also plans to invest in the development of offshore turbines. Works on bringing intelligence to household appliances is also in process. The company spent $5 billion in the inaugural five years of the program and is quite happy with the performance of many product categories.
