Vincent Callebaut Architectures in association with Frederic Magnien Architect have designed a mobilization swimming pool for the city of Royat in France. Located on rivers Tiretaine and Liaboux the pool specifically designed for cardio-arterial and rheumatologic patients wear a green roof as architectural highlight. Representative of contemporary design form sensitive to high environmental quality the round pools are positioned in a huge hall under green wave made from glass, steel and wood.
The wooden façade of the pool is draped in aquatic plants with well defined contours and colorful beaches. Working more like a spa the green wave’s roof also has two skylights to soothe the patients as they relax in the thermal water of the stainless steel pools.
