French military fort to make way for eco-hotel with green walls

Revitalizing something is not enough, until and unless it betters the existing one. If we muse over the same in architecture and design, the revamp should flaunt something green for sure. French firms Emmanuel Combarel Dominique Marrec Architects (ecdm) and KLNB propose a green rehabilitation project for a former military fort in the city of Buc. The 8.6 m € project will turn the former site into a 6800-square-meter eco-hotel with 82 rooms.

Though the architects haven’t revealed much about the project, the initial renderings, however, show that it will seek to “preserve the natural and built environment, generating a direct link between the existing residential areas.” You could see the green walls supporting wooden cabins in the images below; also spread across the site.
