After taking about nine months to confirm the final design for a sustainable urban city block near Dallas City Hall, the Urban Revision declares Forwarding Dallas, a collaborative work from Atelier Data and Moov, as the winner of the international competition dubbed Re: Vision - Dallas. The completely off the grid 854-unit housing development touts maximum utilization of solar thermals, photovoltaics, horizontal axis wind turbines and passive solar louvers.

Not to miss, the green roofs with native vegetation and the affluent use of local materials and straw bales try to keep it ensconced in local fabric. Since elders and children deserve special care, the housing area will have dedicated spiritual space, gymnasium, café, an exhibition space and a temporary accommodation center. You could see this project breaking ground in early 2011 positively.
