With the business world minting money out of the strongly echoing buzzword 'eco-friendly' the automobile industries seem to be making the most out of the prevailing demands.

So, it's not surprising to find one of the leading car industries, Ford Motor Company, getting armed with the same armor -- environmentally friendly cars. It has come up with cars, in which the company seeks to make the interior more eco-friendly.
The company found it wiser to start using seats made with soy-based foam to enlist them in the list of environmental friendly cars. These cars are scheduled to be launched in the market in 2008. The Ford's popular US muscle cars will be the first to get the 'soy seats.'
Using this renewable resource to make the car seats contributes towards lowering the environmental footprints, by helping conserve natural resources.
Unlike the commonly used petroleum-based polyol foam-based seats, the soy-based form, not just have up to 24 per cent renewable content, but also needs less energy for producing and cutting carbon dioxide emissions.
Thus using soy for manufacturing car seats will reduce pollution levels while producing automotive-materials, hence improving an overall environmental impact.
