The think3’s CAD package ThinkDesign will see its inclusion into Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), US and Stylus Automotive Pvt. Ltd.’s joint venture to design the green car, dubbed VDS Vision 100. The hybrid vehicle is being designed to rule the busy streets of India. While MIT VDS team leads the research, Stylus automotive will take care of the styling and conceptual design of the vehicle. Well deservedly, the project has entered the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE Contest.

The hybrid is a strategic vehicle to tackle congestion and ensure safe transportation. It will carry five passengers and a cargo and will care for the occupants, pedestrian and the environment as well. MIT VDS utilizes the GaBi software to employ only 5% of the materials that go into the design and engine of Toyota Prius. It’s also working hard to minimize costs related to fuel, batteries and electric motors.
