The world is truly drifting towards greener shores. Just yesterday we talked about a globe-trotting Swiss couple climbing peaks and sailing vast oceans to get their green message across. Today, it’s a two-day street festival called Fiesta del Sol celebrated each year taking the lead to make a positive change in people’s attitude towards environment.

This theme for year’s Fiesta del Sol was going “off the grid” which means the entire event was powered by using alternative energies. The organizers used solar panels and biodiesel generators to run the event as the crowd regaled to the numbers delivered by the liked of B-Side Players. The event was a success till the clouds played a spoil sport and left solar batteries starved for juice forcing the organizers to add a fourth biodiesel generator to make up for not having solar panels.

Hence it wasn’t just the beer and wine which remained the attraction, alternative energy too shared the limelight at fiesta del Sol.
