Have you ever seen recycled objects narrating tales imprinted on them? If not, you need to visit KC Willis Studio and Gallery on Kimbark Street. Here you could notice how 'voluble' the leftover scraps of fabric, mismatched buttons, recycled bits of fur, coffee-stained or charred canvases can be. KC Willis has made her women-centered collection expressive enough to attract visitors. The grand opening of her gallery comes this Tuesday.

The mission I’m on is to move you to look at them in a way you’ve never looked at them, and make you listen to them because no one else did.
KC Willis dubs her recycled art as Fabric Fiction. It’s fiction indeed as you could see some historic figures, some country maids and cowgirls, Victorian women and iconic artists, like Frida Kahlo and Georgia O’Keefe portrayed on recycled fabric.
The show will also display pieces from Laura Reilly, Betsy Hannah and JoAnnA Pierotti. Thirty percent of opening day’s sales and 25 percent of the two-week show’s profit will go to A Woman’s Work i.e. a local nonprofit organization active for the cause of women.
