Felix Finkbeiner, out to save the world by encouraging the whole world to plant trees

The eco soldier:

Teenager Felix Finkbeiner, is a hero in his country for what he has done till date. Neither is a movie star or a sportsperson but this guy is an inspiration for many across the globe. When he was as young as nine, Felix pledged to plant not one or ten but a million trees in Germany.

He is out to save the environment with his intention to reforest the planet which is being poisoned with each passing day. His book, Tree by Tree has been appreciated by many and this environmental superstar is out to make a difference at such a young age. Felix is role model for many and is a resident of Pocking, near Munich.

The arena:

Felix Finkbeiner runs an organization named Plant for the Planet which has already crossed the one million mark in Germany when it comes to planting trees. The organization has roped in 131 countries and the latest edition being the British chapter with the same one million aim, that is anticipated to be fulfilled in the coming few years. The organization works in a simple manner and being a part of it is not difficult at all. Either donate a minimal amount of €1which will buy one tree and further be planted or you can also vow to plant a specific number of trees to save our beautiful planet.

The eco effort:

With a target of planting 212,000,000 trees, Plant for the Planet sounds quite promising when it comes to making the world clean and green. The young environmentalist recently told everyone about the way climate is changing for bad with each passing day. He also pointed out that how all the rich lot just talked about the environment and showed concern but practically does nothing at a fast pace. The organization has already planted more than a million trees and another 1.4 million have been pledged for planting, which is quite impressive. An awareness campaign that they run with the name ‘Stop Talking and Start Planting’ stirs people further.

Felix is considered as one of the most important environmentalist all over the globe and that too at such a young age. When children of his age are busy playing and involved in various other meaningless activities, Felix is out to save the planet.

A crab apple was planted by Felix on March 28 2007, which was the first of the one million saplings. Across 91 countries, there are 100,000 children participating who are participating in this mission and a good 3.5 million trees have already been planted. Vanishing trees can have a very bad impact on the environment especially in terms of climatic change and this poses a threat for the future generations.
