Evatran's Plugless Power lends compatibility to EV charging stations

Electric car industry has moved strength to strength in the recent years, however, certain inhibitions still loom large to deny it public acceptability. Though the initiation of Cash for Clunkers like programs and installing public charging stations have certainly lessened the dilemma of electric car aspirants, still the fact that public charging stations don’t support all kinds of electric car plugs has made Evatran, an EV charging company, to sign a deal with product design firm Synchroness to manufacture hands-free proximity charging system for electric vehicles.

Dubbed as Plugless Power, the system actually starts juicing up an EV wirelessly via inductive charging once it senses one standing within spitting distance. Since it’s Plugless Power, compatibility with some specific vehicle shouldn’t be an issue. Anyhow, as of now, there’s no word on it either. The production-ready model for drivers will take some time, so you need to wait to see it coming by fall 2010 hopefully.
