Two members of TECOM Investments have taken forward aggressive sustainability agenda with the announcement of the installation of a 5kW solar tracker at DIAC. The Energy and Environment Park (ENPARK), a comprehensive eco-friendly community, and Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), the world's only free zone dedicated to higher education have jointly installed a system that is capable of producing 13,825 KWh of electrical energy each year.
The solar tracker donated by the founders of Switchpower, a team of renewable energy experts from Sweden, powers 129 lamps and saves nearly six tons of CO2 emissions annually. This green installation can work for good 10 hours each day and supplies 2.9kW of total load connected. This initiative truly reflects the company’s commitment towards saving the environment. TECOM Investments and its entities take on a practical approach through various initiatives to raise awareness on green issues and reduce carbon footprint in the region. The TECOM management office was recently benchmarked by the US Green Building Council as the first LEED Platinum Commercial Interior in the region.
