Emergent Architecture conceptualizes energy-efficient office spaces

emergent architecture three protorypes

Emergent Architecture foresees what could be the future of sustainable office places. Just recently, it unveiled three prototypes, dubbed as Thermo-Strut, Tracery Glass and Lizard Panel, that seem to mingle to offer three-dimensional workplaces in utilizing integrated thermal solar systems, PV systems, algae photo-bioreactor coils, radiant cooling systems, and grey water capture systems. Crafted in formed fiber composite and polycarbonate materials, the buildings conjoin making use of plate steel and acrylic pipes.

The first prototype i.e. the Thermo-Strut exploits solar thermal technology to the fullest possible. Structured in low-resolution steel plate beams, the construction wraps itself in solar thermal covering that has transparent apertures to receive sunlight for longer intervals. The highly ornamental piece of architecture adheres to ‘surface-to-strand’ geometries to bring about a heaving energy efficient structure.

Second, there is the Tracery Glass prototype that bases itself on almost the same set of values. Crammed with cooling coils, fins, solar surfaces, and vivid color patterns, the dead flat construction is crafted in polycarbonate.

Finally, we move toward the Lizard Panel prototype that also imbibes the theme of renewable but with a slight deviation from the normal (as is manifest by the former two) stint of solar alone. This section could be termed as a powerhouse offering variety. The segment is enlivened with the inclusion of algae bioreactor pipes for energy generation and deep channels for reclamation of grey water from rainfall. These two systems balance each other brilliantly as the grey water channels serves as the breeding ground for the algae channels. Moreover, hybrid beam morphology makes sure that the webbing connection extends structural unity to the system.
