Often referred to as the 'Jewel of the east coast', Vishakapatanam now brings more pride with this green enterprise.

When the eco friendly initiative of 62nd Vanamahotsavam volunteered to plant two million saplings with the help of the Andhra Pradesh government, it was to reduce the increasing pollution and the diseases that were spreading due to this. The Chief Conservator of Forests, Mr. N. Javahar Babu, appreciated both the state government and the students for bringing up the issue which needs a great attention and trying to create cognizance among the Indians.

The impact

The green effort will reduce global warming and increase greenery. Fresh air and clean water will no longer be just a dream, if this initiative spreads itself across the world. State governments can follow the example of Andhra Pradesh in this matter and our country will have less diseases and less pollution. By including common people in the enterprise, there has been a lot of learning and understanding from their part.
