Hitting back at recession and almost overturning its yawning repercussions, some at-risk 18-to-24-year-olds have come up with the fabulous Eco House that opens itself to public (especially kids) today with the induction of $11 million Delaware Children's Museum. Done in recycled and sustainable materials, the 600-square-foot house owes its existence to the Delaware Challenge Program, a nonprofit that imparts on-the-job training to worthy aspirants.

The Eco House utilizes locally furnished recycled wood that was lying along the Christina Riverfront. The insulation panels are made from blown cellulose. For finishing purposes, the house employs nontoxic paint and polyurethane. A living roof is also there that suffuses greenery on top of protective material. A $206,000 grant from New Castle County Pride assisted the Challenge Program in finishing the $250,000 project.
You will see kids trying to perceive a sort of affinity as they play with plastic vegetables. It is a learning experience for kids and an epitome of green architecture for all. Don’t you think so?
