Motorola has unveiled a new Android smartphone in collaboration with Verizon Wireless at the CTIA Fall 2010. Christened as “Motorola Citrus," this small touchscreen phone runs on the Android 2.1 operating system. Sporting a curved design, the phone is a treat for the eyes as well as for the environment. It’s housing is made 25 percent post-consumer recycled plastic and is certified CarbonFree. The PVC and BFR free device comes packaged in 80 percent post-consumer recycled paper, while the user manual uses 100 percent recycled paper with soy-based ink.

The Motorola Citrus features a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen that supports TFT display, fluid flick, swipe, pinch-to-zoom and an easy-to-use on-screen QWERTY keyboard. It comes preloaded with Bing Search and Bing Maps. The back panel of this device features Backtrack touch panel that lets users navigate and scroll through e-mails, home screens, websites, as well as music, without even obstructing the display. It also includes a 3-megapixel camera which comes with features like fixed focus and digital zoom. There isn’t any word regarding its pricing, but it is expected to hit the market in Q4 2010.
