With each passing year, the annual Japanese calendars exhibition is gaining a lot of popularity with the citizens of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Portraying grandeur and splendor of Japan’s grand architecture with a perfect combination of spectacular landscapes and its marvelous seasons, the 128 calendars were exhibited at Gallery 7 of the Pakistan National Council of the Arts yesterday.

The company behind these creative pieces of art is trying to grab attention of viewers both by using interesting subjects and by adding a touch of green to them. Most of the calendars are a result of an eco-friendly process and are printed on paper manufactured from trees of managed forests, non-tree sources like sugarcane, and recycled paper. The various subjects for the calendars are contemporary and traditional art, gardens, scenery, costumes, people, art, photography, automobiles, wildlife, communication, living styles and historical places.
Japanese Ambassador Chihiro Atsumi opened the exhibition that display works offering a true-to-life image of Japan on Wednesday. The exhibition will run until Sunday and all the calendars will be distributed among the visitors, through a lucky draw. The lottery winners will receive their calendars by post.
