There is nothing like getting a chilled beverage after a long tiring journey or when out for a picnic. How about having a device that not only gives you fresh and chilled beverages and salads, but is also safe for the environment? Not a bad deal at all. Well, Ruben Iglesias offers you just that. His creation, the Eco Freezer, is a small picnic-hamper-sized freezer unit that uses a unique method to give you chilled and fresh stuff.
The cover of the Eco Freezer includes two LED lamps with photocells. The freezer gets the energy to function from the lamps, which dispenses the current via magnetic induction. In case the freezer has less stuff to cool, switching to “low mode” that gets power from only one lamp would be a better option, while the other lamp can be used for illumination. If you wish to opt for the “high mode” of cooling, the energy will be provided from both the lamps. Just in case you want both the lamps for illumination, the cooling system stops. In the lamp mode, you can set three modes for illumination: on, S.O.S. and flicker. This intelligently designed box doubles up as a thermal box to keep the contents cold for some time when you run out of battery.
