E-waste comprises of all discarded surplus, obsolete or broken electrical or electronic items, from TVs, stereos, cell phones, computers or cameras. People often throw these items in trash without knowing the harmful effects of this e-waste on their health as well as environment. Harmful toxins and carcinogens are produced from the e- waste which contaminates the entire community soil or water supply. Our landfills are also choked due to the plastic with which these discarded electronic parts are made of, generally.

Mike would also have thrown away the discarded pieces of electronic which he had in a small box. But an idea of reusing these parts and creating something out of it, struck in his mind. Then looking at the parts he decided to make a robot structure out of it, which will be a tribute to technology.

He started with the few electronic pieces that he had saved over the last few years which included old CPUs, wires, circuit boards etc. He also asked his friends and relatives for the old electronic pieces which they were to discard. He made a huge collection of electronic pieces in some time and then started to breathe a new life to the junk pieces.

Keeping the picture of a robot in his mind, he began with the structure. He used computer processors of various companies like Dell, AMD, IBM, Maxtor, Toshiba, Sharp and Gateway to create the body and different body parts like arms, legs etc. CPUs, floppy drives and many CD drives were used to create the brain of the robot.

The most attractive feature of the robot was the eyes. To create these special eyes, Mike used the lens frames of old Canon and HP digital cameras.

The robotic structure is an artifact made out of junk which has a new life now in homes, where it can be kept as an item of decor. With all those electronic junk, it also requires a fair amount of patience and hard work for creating this marvelous piece of modern art. This robot inspires people to go green and instead of throwing away their once a high tech electronic equipment, re-purpose them to make such cute pieces of artwork.
