Giving a boost to green business revolution on the central and southern coasts U.S. Department of Energy has decided to grant $2.4 million to Ecomerit Technologies for developing its Aquantis C-plane project. The project aims at harnessing renewable energy from ocean currents using turbines to convert kinetic energy from the flow into electricity. The project is expected to provide the southeastern coastal states with huge amounts of clean, renewable electric power while at the same time creating thousands of quality jobs in manufacturing, turbine deployment, and for crews of the fleet of operating and maintaining vessels.
