Discarded bottles beautify a garden chapel in Wilmington

Honestly, I never thought recycling bottles could result in something so beautiful. But after seeing the “Minnie Evans Sculpture Garden Bottle House,” I was stunned. It is such an amazing portrayal of creativity, magnificence and eco-friendliness. Also referred to as the “chapel,” the structure was built by a local artist, Virginia Wright-Frierson in 2004. Located at Airlie Gardens, Wilmington, NC, the house was made using bottles, cement and chicken wire.

Constructed as a garden retreat, the inside of Minnie Evans Bottle Chapel includes a sculpture of a tree with birds and nests. Frierson has used bottles of different shapes, sizes and colors to come up with designs of faces, butterflies and Buddhas. I have never seen such a brilliant use of discarded bottles.
