The Stockholm Furniture Fair held on February 8-12, 2011 was ruled by new inventions or the innovative and creative ideas for lighting. One pioneering and interesting lighting installation that made its presence felt was the “Light Bar.” The brainchild of designer Alexander Lervik, this stunning lighting features 1728 heads with LED placed inside each one of them.

Half of these heads symbolize men, while the other half symbolizes women. Developed in collaboration with the Stockholm Lighting Company, the lighting installation gives a three-dimensional look. The light used in the Light Bar is made from the finest materials, which can be easily disposed of. Since the designer uses LEDs, the installation doesn’t consume much energy. The LEDs constantly change color, from orange to blue to red to pinks and greens, creating a perfect ambiance. The 12 row by 12 column installation is arranged to form a cube-like structure. This stunning installation definitely looks like a great eye treat to me….what’s your take on that?
