Compelled by drought like conditions Australian Prime Minister, John Howard is asking people to pray and appease rain God. As a matter of fact last month Howard had warned that if the dry spell continues to persist till June then it would have dire consequences on the farmers. The people who rely on southeastern Australia's Murray-Darling river system for their water supply would be the worst affected.

So far a little rain has fallen and it failed to do much, as a result the water level in various dams is dismally low, and these are ominous signs.
Howard said:
It's still a worry because it hasn't rained enough. This affects all of us, this drought, and I say without any hint of irony you should all continue to pray for more rain because we need it very, very badly.
Howard's comments are also interesting, as they have come in the amidst the reports that allege administration of overestimating Murray-Darling system water level.
