Toronto-based industrial designer Jeff Pinard has come up with a concept Longboard for urbanites, students and professors who usually find it difficult to travel around the dense urban areas and University campuses. While allowing a faster, safer, and practical commute through these areas, the novel means of transportation also carries your commodities in mobile storage units or carrying cases. The designer calls it .CAT. or the Campus Alternative Transport.

A dedicated .CAT. terminal allows students to rent the Longboards by swiping their student IDs. When not in use the boards can be locked into docking spaces through docking station attachment points for safety purposes. A stainless mounting bracket attaches all front parts of the board. The front tire, which is comparatively broader than the ones on its rear, is controlled via a brake pedal.
