British NGOs and MPs Demand A Climate Change Bill

Irani SenFeb 1 2006

To ensure the UK reduces its emissions of greenhouse gases, campaigners -- a coalition of British NGOs and MPs have called for a new law. It is astonishing, despite Tony Blair's concerns about climate change, UK emissions are continuing to rise, and are now higher than they were in 1997 when Labor came to power!

To implement the concerns, and making the big talks effective, the MPs and NGOs launched the details of the proposed new law in Parliament on Wednesday 13 July 2005, with a hope to find a result to the eon of planning and expenditures. They 'rightly' argued that the UK would fail to make the essential year-on-year cuts in emissions of greenhouse gases, without a legal framework.
