Canadian power producer Boralex Inc has announced its joint acquisition of three wind farms in France to add 47 MW of capacity with its new European partner Cube Infrastructure Fund. The C$115 million acquisition will increases the company's installed wind power capacity in Europe to 170 MW. The company said the construction work of two out of the three wind farms has just begun.

A 30 MW wind site has been planned in Plateau de Ronchois in the Picardie and Normandie regions, while a 10 MW wind site will be set at Grand Camp in the Centre region. The third wind farm is a 7 MW Bel Air site in Brittany, which had been in operation since December 2006 and is financed by a French bank. The two under construction farms will account for close to 78 percent of the total investment. The collaboration would result in an additional 110 MW of wind power, without Boralex being required for any supplementary funds.
