Beautiful Earth Group brings containerized EV charging station to NY

Beautiful Earth Group, a sustainable energy company recently unveiled its containerized electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The BMW Mini E pictured here is powered by juice generated by the off-grid, modular station that takes help from a soaring array of photovoltaic panels to produce energy. To settle term with the green theme, this station is constructed using recycled shipping containers.

Beautiful Earth’s solar-powered charging station that generates enough energy to power a small home uses 24 Sharp 235-watt panels and has a capacity of almost 6 kW. After receiving a charge for three hours, the BMW Mini E is all set to hit the road for nearly 100 miles. For times when additional charge is required, the upper level of the charging station has a battery bank that stores electricity as generated for on-demand use.
