Our wary ignorance to some very appalling signs of our god-awful existence on Earth, namely global warming, climate change, overpopulation and GHG emissions, now demand an apposite solution. Accordingly, the world’s leading architects have got together at the AIA-NY’s Center for Architecture for exploring the possible ways of coming out of the quagmire. Hoping to suggest designs for creating better cities through better transportation, they are participating in a new exhibition titled Our Cities Ourselves: The Future of Transportation in Urban Life. As they put transport center-stage, they look forward to create a livable urban future.
Featuring diverse visions for ten urban cultures: Ahmedabad, Budapest, Buenos Aires, Dar es Salaam, Guangzhou, Jakarta, Johannesburg, Mexico City, New York City, and Rio de Janeiro, the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP)’s exhibition will be on view from June 24 to September 11, 2010.
