Irani SenJan 8 2007

It is clear from the picture that this clock is an antique piece of art. But, noticing more carefully, you can spot this clock as not being a general clock showing time, but weather! The clock's work is replaced with a servo, using a phidgets USB -- servo controller to control it from servo from a computer.

Since the servo only turns about 180, some gears are used to turn the needle shaft 360 degrees. A flash application connects it to yahoo! weather service for updating the servo, capable of toggling between current condition and the local forecast.

Of the weather service reports of yahoo's 40 different conditions, this clock can report on 14 weather conditions!

It updates automatically, with the default set at every 10 minutes.
