An eight-foot ball at Miami Dade College spreading recycling awareness

Miami Dade College North Campus is on its way to spread recycling awareness among people. To materialize the dream an eight-foot tall aluminum ball has been built that will travel across all eight MDC campuses to be filled by cans and aluminum foil for recycling. Constructing the ball under the Get the Ball Rolling Initiative, the college wants the world to know about the importance of recycling.

This green initiative is part of the Greenway Campaign, a college-wide effort to promote environmental sustainability through a wide variety of projects, including recycling bins and a student speaker series. To carry forward the task a Green team was formulated that comprises of faculty from across disciplines, staff and students interested in making a change in the environment. In order to collect cans, the team placed bins all over the campus. Let’s hope to see a few more similar initiatives in the near future.
