American Sustainability Initiative (AmeriSus), a company known for constructing homes that amalgamates affordability, efficiency and sustainability together is all set to make it green and big this time. The prefabricated home manufacturer will start the construction work of their 12,000 market-rate, energy-efficient homes, which they will be completing in next two years. The eco-friendly dwellings are expected to save 70% on monthly utility bills as compared to conventional homes.

AmeriSus will be building modest-sized homes, with energy-efficient qualities that will bring down the utility costs. Although, these dwellings will be priced slightly above the normal houses, but will give monetary gains by means of utility costs. The company’s green houses will incorporate features like Energy Star-rated Whirlpool appliances, windows with U-values of 0.28, and front and rear vestibules to that serve as buffers between the inside and outside. It will Shaw’s products for carpeting purposes, as they contains 50% recycled content and the manufacture even takes them back to recycle them into new ones.
The company is looking forward to building its prefabricated houses in 14 states that goes by names as - Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Illinois, Ohio, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Washington D.C. The company is seeking builders in the 14 states to erect its affordable green houses. It already has commitments to building 300 homes in the first six months of the program.
