Restaurant recycles trash into art for its interiors

Responding to the concern about the environment and the recession, Icrave, a design firm, plans to adorn a restaurant with recycled art. Named "The Collective," the restaurant will open on March 17 in the New York meatpacking district. Icrave utilizes raw materials from thrift shops, flea markets, online sellers and curbside trash to make stunning furniture.

What will you see in the restaurant is bathtubs turning into chairs and sofas, packaging material converting into light fixtures and a rusty steel frame with wooden mannequin limbs shaped into an armchair. The interiors look quite interesting and inviting. I am sure visitors would certainly be inspired to practice recycling after seeing the intelligently made furniture and lighting.
