They are meant for the sea. Sea is their home. But once, they intruded the land and lost their lives. Whales are among the most beautiful creatures that God has produced. But, man’s gift of Global warming has produced such a fury all over that sea level changes are quite implicit for all, now itself.
Recently, the Galapagos Islands, that habitats exotic flora and fauna, including giant tortoises, marine iguanas and blue-footed boobies, was in news over the rescue effort of the whales that came ashore mistakenly. The island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The whales, which were 10 to 30 feet in length, swam ashore last Saturday near the southern town of Puerto Villamil on Isabela Island, the largest of the Galapagos.
The rescue team managed to save five beached pilot whales by returning them to the ocean, three miles (five kilometers) from the shore. But seven others stranded on the Island beach died mainly because of dehydration despite stringent rescue efforts. The rescuers built makeshift pools of sea water around them so that they feel at home.
Finally, all is well that ends well. But, even then, somewhere man is the reason behind everything happening on earth, in sea, in open sky. Man has invaded the sea and the sky to such an extent that the inhabitant creatures have moved away from their homelands. This is the reason we hear about ferocious animals moving from forests to cities. Because man has invaded their homes, leaving them homeless. Better man himself finds the solution early; else it will be too late.
