Above and beyond the feat stated above, Azeem Hill – the gifted maker of the 100 MPG hybrid sports car – went on to upset the likes of MIT and other multi-million dollar tech firms to almost clinch $10 million prize at the Progressive Automotive X-Prize this year. Mentor Simon Hauger ably guided the West Philadelphia High School’s team toward a hands-on science experiment that added to team members’ educational experience.

The after-school workshop in Philadelphia made Hill and his teammates to envision a hybrid that goes from 0-60 in less than 5 seconds. Much to their delight, the existent creation is quite capable of achieving 70 mpg on the highway and 100 mpg in the city.
